Summer Dream Job Rate of Pay: $14.50 / hour Shifts: Monday through
Friday 7 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. 8:45 a.m. - 6:30

With weekends off, and a free Y membership – working as a camp
counselor is the ultimate summer job! The Y is looking for fun,
energetic, enthusiastic counselors. The incumbent must be a team
member, communicate effectively with parents, campers and peers,
have common sense, patience, and creativity is a must. Experience
with children, games, songs, swimming, gymnastics, and
arts-n-crafts a plus. Campers will fall into these categories –
Youth (kindergarten to grade 6) and Teen (grade 6–9). Camp
activities will include sports, theme weeks, crafts, values
education, swimming, hiking, and songs and games. Teen Camp
Counselors will require a clean driving record and driver's license
background check to operate YMCA vehicles. *Must commit to working
for the 11 weeks of the summer: June 1–August 14 (weekdays only).
The first week will be camp training , 9 a.m.-5 p.m.,
Monday-Friday. Face to face interviews will consist of a 30-40
minute discussion that will include several day camp scenarios.
Interviews can also take place virtually. Applicant Age
Requirement: 18 years old - High School Graduate / College Students
All positions require: - PA State Police - PA Child Abuse History -
FBI Fingerprint Clearances - National Sex Offenders Registry
Clearance A FREE YMCA Membership is included for the employee while
they are actively employed. All positions require the ability to
obtain PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Fingerprint,
National Sex Offenders Registry Clearances and Mandated Reporter
Training. If you do not have current clearances (within six months)
the Y will help you obtain them. The Sewickley Valley YMCA is a
