We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Account Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate brings proven experience servicing client accounts with a strong track record of building and maintaining strategic relationships and working knowledge of insurance products and benefit plans. Summary: Prospects new accounts of all sizes. Manages and nurtures a stable of consultants and brokers to increase production. Facilitates sale and implementation of brokered accounts. Manages general agency relationships and supports training and all aspects of sales activities of the general agent. Assists in development of new product launch and RFP process. Formal Education Required: a. Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience & Training Required: a. Three (3) years performing same or similar responsibilities. Relevant experience includes: managing and servicing accounts within a broker agency or a healthcare organization, coordination of open enrollment activities, premium/rate development, and working knowledge of insurance products and benefit plan designs. Essential Functions: 1.Assists in new product development and RFP coordination. 2.Prospect and reviews qualifications of new leads to generate profitable accounts through sales activities e.g. personal introductory visits, networking, telephone calls, letters and follow-up communication. 3.Manages all aspects of established general agency relationships. Responsible for training of general agency’s brokers, establishing general agency goals monitoring quote activity. Works with the general agency to achieve desired close ratio and expected production goals. 4.Develops and maintains a computerized data base of prospects in an assigned territory or with assigned brokers. 5.Sells company benefit plans to prospective employer group by presenting advantages of the services offered by SummaCare and Apex. 6.Establishes and maintains key relationships with employers, brokers, and consultants. Consults with front-line benefits contacts to demonstrate value and build commitment to SummaCare. Entertains key prospects, brokers, and consultants, to ensure open lines of communication and build company loyalty. Invites senior leadership and management to events, as appropriate. 7.Educates brokers and employers on self-funded and fully insured options provided by SummaCare and Apex. 8.Works with a designated sales team to facilitate sales of broker driven accounts when direct prospecting efforts lead to a broker driven sales opportunity. 9.Coordinates and conducts open enrollment presentations, discussions with employers, and the distribution of enrollment materials to maximize enrollment and profitability of new accounts. 10.Works collaboratively with Account Manager to assure continued service of new accounts after initial enrollment. 11.Attends networking functions with a plan of maximizing SummaCare’s exposure to employers and brokers. 12.Manages and nurtures an independent sales territory. Accepts accountability for enrolling new members and achieving the targeted sales goal. 13.Provides management and staff with information pertaining to market environment and competitive activities. 14.Performs all job functions with integrity. Provides timely internal and external customer service in cooperative, professional, and respectful manner. 15.Maintains state mandated insurance licensure requirements and completion of mandated continuing education. 3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: a. Effectively use Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, to facilitate performance of essential job functions. b. Exercise judgment in identifying groups that offer the greatest profit potential and the least amount of risk. c. Maintain current knowledge of methodology behind experience rated and community rated employer groups. d. Assess factors such as client company’s primary objectives and needs to develop appropriate and competitive proposals. e. Analytical ability to assess, interpret and work with complex data to find solutions for an employer’s benefit plans and cost strategies. f. Organize and manage time to accurately complete tasks within designated time frames in fast-paced environment. g. Professionally communicate verbally and in writing to execute presentations and sales calls. h. Maintain current knowledge of and comply with regulatory and company policies & procedures. i. Organize and manage time to accurately complete tasks within designated time frames in a fast paced environment. j. Maintain confidentiality of member health and business information. k. Flexible: ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands. 4. Level of Physical Demands: a. Bend, stoop, and stretch. b. Lift up to 25 pounds. c. Manual dexterity to operate computer, phone, and standard office machines. d. Drive for extended periods of time to brokers and employers within assigned territory. Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled $37.40/hr - $56.11/hr The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
