Schedule Availability: Full & Part TimeBasic Function: The Child
Care Attendant will support the Assistant Educators & Lead
Educators in providing a stimulating, safe, and developmentally
appropriate educational environment where children have the
opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical
skills. The Child Care Attendant is responsible for helping the
Lead & Assistant Educators manage the day-to-day operational
activities of the classroom. The Child Care Attendant will support
the Lead & Assistant Educators in ensuring a classroom environment
where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. This
position will comply with all company and department policies along
with following all state licensing regulations.Duties &
Responsibilities:Support the implementation of curriculum through
classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices
and early learning standards.Support co-teachers with the planning
of individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively
engage children and encourage social, cognitive, emotional and
physical growth.Support the frequent communications with parents
through informal discussions, progress reports & parent-teacher
conferences.Ensure all center policies and state regulations are
met.Support co-teachers with ensuring a healthy classroom
environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and
cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children.Support
the maintenance of accurate records, forms and files.Maintain
personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality
improvement.Support a positive teaching team, and a positive and
welcoming environment for children and guests.Other duties as
assigned to: Child Care Manager, Assistant Manager or Team
LeadQualifications:A trainee is at least sixteen (16) years of age,
able to comprehend basic written format, and meets one (1) of the
following qualifications:At least a high school graduate or has
completed a GED and completes the Fundamentals for Early Childhood
Professionals' course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials
Certificate within the first twelve (12) months of employment; orAt
least a high school graduate or has completed a GED and successful
completion of a three (3) college credit course in child or human
development or in school age care and education within the first
twelve (12) months of employment; orAt least is enrolled in or has
received a State Board of Education approved Human Services Program
Certificate that emphasizes child development or early childhood
education.Annual Professional Development Requirement: Minimum of
15 (clock) hours of Professional Development Activities approved by
CDD, which may be applied toward meeting the Teaching Associate's
Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP). Seasonal Teachers
much complete a minimum of 8 (clock) hours of Professional
Development Activities approved by CDD.Preferred SkillsAbility to
handle a fast paced environment.Ability to work well with others
and foster a team environment.Willingness to develop a strong
understanding of child development, and open to professional
development opportunities.Strong organizational and interpersonal
skills, and emerging leadership skills.Ability to follow all
procedures and guidelines as outlined in the staff manual and
employee handbook.Ability to maintain confidentiality at all
times.Must clear full background check and pass health
