Position:  Senior Windows/VMware Systems Administrator job in Cleveland, Ohio

MODIS, a leader in the IT Staffing and Services industry, is working with a well-established client to fill a Senior Windows/VMware Systems Administrator job in Cleveland, Ohio.  The Senior Windows/VMware Systems Administrator job in Cleveland, Ohio will contribute to this major organization by supporting and administrating the design, planning and implementation of all Windows/VMWare related activities of the organization.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• 
  

• Provide direction for the IT Department operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, organizing and administering ongoing support.
• Provide direction for the architectural design of the Windows/VMWare System infrastructure while benchmarking, analyzing, and reporting, to make recommendations for improvements.
• Develop/support automation scripting efforts to speed deployments of infrastructure services utilizing Powershell, VBscript, or C#.
• Coordinate with network engineering, business application developers, and database administration functions to implement client desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices.
• Administer/handle all Windows/VMWare server, storage, operating systems and related hardware/software in support of all enterprise business applications.
• Perform server storage and operating system security audits as required.
• Perform/test system backups/restores and disaster/recovery processing as required.
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows/VMWare hardware and software problems on servers, storage and related technologies. Escalate incidents as necessary.

 
Qualifications:
 

• 
  

• 5+ years IT related experience.
• Bachelor degree preferred but applicants with equivalent experience will be considered
• Significant experience with full life-cycle management of virtual servers with VMWare ESXi.
• Understanding of current network protocols TCP, UDP, VLAN (802.1q), MPLS, and/or LACP and troubleshooting communication issues using them.
• Extensive technical and software application support experience with Windows/VMWare related HW/SW technologies.
• Hand-on experience developing system automation using scripting/programming languages such as to PowerShell, VBscripting, C#, or Visual Studio.
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development with a strong understanding of project management principles.
