Job Description:
The Systems Administrator I works within the IT-Operations Help
Desk team to provide system and application support in order to
ensure secure, stable and sustainable enterprise support of
computer workstations, servers, and other physical or virtual IT
Infrastructure.This includes but is not limited to end-user
support, system deployment, performance tuning, upgrades/patches,
maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, permissions, and
file-sharing within Windows Operating Systems and a Windows Active
Directory Domain.This position may report to an IT Operations
Supervisor and/or IT Operations Manager/Director.Your Contributions
and ResponsibilitiesAct as a front-line interface to users,
accepting Help Desk Incident and Service Requests and/or escalating
to an appropriate team member within IT-Operations, IT-Engineering
or IT-Information SecurityAssist end-users with hardware and
software challengesAssist in training end-users on programs or
systemsSupport Microsoft Active Directory and maintain security
groupsPerform software and application installations and
upgradesDocument implementation guidelines and installation
guidance. Document work.May provide research and recommendations
regarding systems or software purchases for the firm as
requestedAssist with projects or other operational tasks for the IT
department as assignedWork under general supervision of an
IT-Operations Supervisor or IT-Operations Manager/DirectorProvide
technical assistance and support for incoming inquiries and issues
relating to software applications, computer operating systems,
network equipment and infrastructure, and phone equipmentProvide QA
testing for system and software application deployment and/or
technology change managementAssist in managing technology
operations for a local network or networksPerform routine tasks to
support the firm's operating systems under the supervision of a
more experienced System AdministratorYour Background and
SkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills-explain simple
procedures (written and/or verbal) and maintain good phone-voice
etiquette for diplomacyTrain users in applications and operating
system fundamentals and to write basic documentationWork well alone
or on a teamExcellent customer service and problem-solving
skillsOrganizational and follow-through skills, peforming work
accurately with strong attention to detailFamiliarity with current
operating systems and its commands/utilities at a user level;
ability to edit files, use basic utilities and commands, find users
home directories, navigate through the file system, install
software on workstations and use I/O redirection; some
understanding of how user authentication happens in a directory
service contextAbility to meret deadlines and effectively
prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a
variety of concurrent and shifting prioritiesSense of urgency and
bias toward actionInterest in structured approaches to system
configuration management preferredStrong intellectual curiosity and
motivation to advance in the profession is desiredYour
QualificationsMinimum of two years of college or equivalent
post-high school education or experience plus 1years of system
administration experience and/or appropriate balance of education
and work experience.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or
related field is preferredPrior experience working in a
