Human Relations Generalist Job Description Direct Report Department Salary Grade FLSA Status Effective Date Human Resources Manager Human Resources Salary ExemptBilingual: Spanish/EnglishEssential Job Functions and Basic Duties Responsible for daily hourly and salaried payroll processing and weekly/bi-weekly payroll and back-up for semi-monthly salaried payroll. Responsible for entering all hourly new hires in the HRIS and Payroll programs. Responsible for the enrollment of hourly health and welfare enrollments. Maintain HRIS system. Responsible for attendance tracking, payroll reporting, cost center reporting and all other administrative duties assigned by the manager. Assist in the administration of benefits and all aspects of personnel issues and clerical administration. Assist in the recruitment, and interview process, and planning and development of employees. Represent the company's best interest on all matters regarding employee morale, motivation and general administration of long term goals. Assist in the implementation of developing company policies and procedures for all employees. Back-up for new hire orientation programs. Represent management and assist manager in working with union stewards with the union grievances. Assist in providing services to employees to answer all benefit questions, resolve health claim issues and workers' compensation claims. Maintain and assist in HIPAA requirements and privacy compliance standards. Assist in the organization of all company social activities. Assist in the implementation of applications and proposals to submit to fund granting authorities; such as governmental and foundations.Performance Measurements Must be physically and mentally capable to perform assigned duties of the position in a safe and efficient manner, demonstrating a working knowledge of the business and/or production process, at the same time working together with fellow employees. Must follow all health and safety and environmental policies and procedures in daily activities. Must perform duties in a manner to meet business and/or production standards and customer quality requirements. Must be able to perform all tasks assigned by manager and/or supervisor in an accurate and timely manner and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Education and Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and bachelor's degree in human resources management; or five years related experience or similar combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Qualifications Human resource experience in a manufacturing environment.
