Will Do: Will perform duties essential to personal care given to
terminally- ill patients in their place of residence under the
direction of the registered nurse and/or supervisor. Performs
duties as assigned by supervising RN including but not limited to
giving baths, oral hygiene, nail care, foot care, skin care,
pressure relief, and helping with feeding, dressing and
transferring patients as necessary. Ability to accurately take and
record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as
directed. Notifies appropriate licensed staff when patient
complains of pain. Positions patient in bed with proper body
alignment. Assists patient with ambulation as necessary. Supports
and maintains a culture of safety using proper transferring
techniques. Identifies and accurately communicates findings to the
supervising RN. Demonstrates the ability to document patient care
according to professional standards. Works cooperatively with the
Interdisciplinary Group. Understands Hospice philosophy and issues
of death and dying. Maintain dignity of dying patients.
Qualifications About You: Must hold a CNA certification or have
similar experience . Previous hospice experience preferred. Meets
the training requirements of the State. Qualified candidates must
have one (1) year direct patient care experience in acute or
sub-acute care. Previous hospice experience is highly preferred.
Superior customer service skills. Ability to read and follow
written instructions and document care given. Travel is required
throughout the workday. Valid state driver's license and reliable
automobile, current automobile insurance and be willing to operate
personal car necessitated by nature of job. Provides copy upon
renewal of driver's license and automobile insurance. The position
requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping,
crouching, reaching, and climbing throughout the majority of the
day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients
weighing over 50 pounds. Routinely transfer patient weight 100lb or
greater. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable
