• Job Title: Anesthesiologist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location:
West Shore Surgery Center, Pennsylvania (UPMC) • Service Setting:
Multispecialty Ambulatory Surgery Center - Outpatient/OR coverage •
Coverage Type: Clinical • Coverage Period: 10/10/2025 - ongoing
(dates TBD) • Clinical Shift Schedule: Part-time; 7:00a - 4:00p
(some shifts may extend later) COVERAGE DATES • Immediate coverage
needed: 10/10, 10/13, 10/16, 10/17, 10/24 • Assignment is ongoing
with schedule for November TBD PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient
Demographics: Adults 90%, Pediatrics 10% • Patient Volume/Census:
Supervising up to 4 ORs with CRNAs; may also cover an OR
independently • Admissions: Outpatient/OR only • Case Mix:
Ophthalmology, GI, ENT, Plastic Surgery, General, GYN, Orthopedic,
Podiatry, Rectal, Oculoplastic, Dental • Procedures: Cataract,
Retina, Colonoscopy, T&A, BMT, other surgical procedures •
Daily Caseload: Multiple cases per OR, rapid turnover; some longer
cases FACILITY INFORMATION • Facility: West Shore Surgery Center,
Pennsylvania • Specialty Backup Available: Yes - CRNAs, experienced
support staff • Support Staff Available: Yes • Reason for Coverage:
Supplemental PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges
Required: Full privileges available; temporary privileges provided
• Credentialing Timeline: 7 days • Compliance Requirements: ACLS,
BLS, PALS required; Flu vaccine required; DEA required; PA State
License required • Onboarding Requirements: Collaborative agreement
with supervising physician; UPMC mandatory education not required •
Documentation Required: CV, 24-month case logs, Act 33 & Act 34
clearances, Act 73 FBI clearance, malpractice COI,
enrollment/insurance packet, TB test, CMEs past 24 months
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: Market rate; details submitted with
provider presentation • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance:
Covered REQUIRED SKILLS & PROCEDURES • Able to work independently
in an OR if required • Experience with adult and pediatric patients
(minor pediatric cases 10%) • Paper charting experience • Must be
adaptable to fast-paced, multi-case OR environment JOB REQUIREMENTS
• License: Active Pennsylvania medical license required (IMLC
accepted) • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in
Anesthesiology • DEA: Required • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
required • Experience: Minimum 1 year post-training in
anesthesiology • Other Qualifications: Collaborative with CRNAs and
OR staff, flexible to cover multiple ORs, multitasking in
high-volume surgery center DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide
anesthesia coverage in a multispecialty surgery center • Supervise
CRNAs in up to 4 ORs or cover an OR independently • Manage rapid
turnover of multiple cases, including longer procedures (ENT,
Plastic) • Ensure patient safety and high-quality perioperative
care for adult and pediatric patients • Collaborate with
experienced surgical and support staff for optimal patient
