ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wheeling, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM • Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM • Every other weekend requirement with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all considered weekend shifts • Day shift staff required to work minimum 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule • Holiday coverage as needed, though typically covered by permanent staff • Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met with 4 requested days off per month • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies • Patient ratio goal of 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6 • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently • Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix • Float to telemetry or medical-surgical units as needed with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in med-surg • Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy patients • Floor-specific orientation includes 4 hours with HR and remaining time with preceptor over 2 days • Work with Allscripts charting system and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors • Strict cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract with zero tolerance for attendance issues • Must submit copy of unexpired driver's license and comply with 50-mile radius rule Facility: This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive cardiac and intermediate care services. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house support including hospitalist coverage, intensivist services, IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services.
