Registered Nurse (RN) | Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Location: Morgantown, WV Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,668 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night rotating shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PICU required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS Certification, PALS Must-Have: 2 years of PICU experience required Description: Unit consists of 20 total beds with an average daily census of around 15. Ensures a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in stepdown. Nurses are required to titrate sedation and vasoactive drips with doctor's orders. Common diagnoses include congenital heart conditions, DKA, respiratory issues, and neurosurgery patients. Experience managing ventilators, tracheostomies, G-tubes is preferred. Charge Nurse duty may be assigned depending on staffing levels. Nurse aids are available during daytime shifts to assist with feeding and equipment needs. Pediatricians and other medical staff are present 24/7. Respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP is available and managed by RT. Telemetry is monitored off-unit while all patients are connected to monitors. Self-scheduling is permitted and block scheduling may be accommodated as needed. Expectations include working two full weekends in a four-week schedule. Holidays may require work depending on unit needs. Travelers will be required to float to other pediatric areas as necessary. Scrub color and dress code is dark gray. Comprehensive unit-specific training includes EPIC training and equipment reviews.
