Job Description:
Are you a compassionate veterinary professional who’s ready to
take your skills to the next level? Avets is looking for a
motivated Surgery Caregiver to join our high-performing Surgery
Department and we are offering a $1500 hiring bonus for this role!
At Avets, we believe great caregivers are made through support,
mentorship, and opportunity. While experience with anesthesia in a
specialty setting is a plus, it’s not required—we’re committed to
developing the right candidate and helping you build the skills and
confidence to succeed. You’ll work alongside two board-certified
surgeons and a team of dedicated caregivers in a state-of-the-art
specialty hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical
tools, including CT, MRI, and arthroscopy. If you’re eager to
learn, grow, and make a real difference in the lives of pets and
their families, we’d love to meet you. What You’ll Do As a key
member of our surgical team, you’ll be involved in every step of
the patient care journey—from pre-surgical assessment to
post-operative recovery and discharge. Your responsibilities will
include: - Assisting with surgical admissions, patient assessments,
and client communication. - Supporting surgical consults and
recheck appointments, including patient handling, radiographs, and
procedural preparation. - Monitoring anesthesia and patient vitals
throughout surgery and recovery to ensure comfort and safety. -
Performing venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and other technical
procedures with care and accuracy. - Acting as a sterile assistant
and scrub technician, maintaining aseptic technique and surgical
readiness. - Maintaining complete and accurate medical records,
daily charges, and discharge documentation. - Reviewing at-home
care instructions with clients to ensure clear understanding and
continued support. - Providing exceptional nursing care, empathy,
and advocacy for every patient. - Assisting with hospitalized and
emergency transfer patients as needed. What We’re Looking For We’re
searching for someone who’s as passionate about learning as they
are about patient care. If you bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and
compassion to your work, we’ll provide the mentorship and training
you need to thrive in a specialty setting! Qualifications: -
Veterinary Technician License (LVT, CVT, or RVT) preferred, but not
required. - Foundational veterinary knowledge, including patient
restraint, triage, imaging, laboratory skills, and venipuncture. -
Previous experience in anesthesia or surgical support is a plus—but
not essential. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. -
Attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and organized
under pressure. - Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are
required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus. Why
Avets? - Work alongside board-certified specialists and a
supportive, experienced surgical team. - Access advanced technology
and innovative procedures in a leading specialty hospital. -
Receive hands-on mentorship and training designed to grow your
skills and confidence. - Join a workplace culture built on
collaboration, compassion, and continuous learning. - Make a
meaningful impact every day—for pets, clients, and your
professional future. Ethos Veterinary Health is at the forefront of
