Job Description UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full
Time Respiratory Therapist to support the Adult Team! \n Our Adult
Team at Magee-Womens Hospital cares for a wide variety of patients
every shift, including medical/surgical, orthopedics, bariatric,
gynecology/oncology, and geriatric. They also have the unique
opportunity to care for new mothers on our obstetric units, and
respond to the Emergency Department, PACU, and Cardiac and
Respiratory Arrests. They are members of the Rapid Response and
Difficult Airway teams, and participate in multidisciplinary
rounding. \n This position will work rotating shifts. Hours are
subject to change based on business needs. \n As Respiratory

certifications. Responsibilities: \n · Operate mechanical
ventilators, therapeutic gas apparatus, and aerosol generators \n ·
Transport mechanically ventilated patients \n · Maintain patient
charts \n · Assess patient condition and determine treatment
requirements \n · Monitor patient responses to therapy \n · Perform
bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises \n · Conduct
pulmonary function tests · Graduate of a Co ARC (Committee on
Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program
required. \n o Students who have received a Temporary Practice
Permit but have not yet graduated from a Co ARC approved
Respiratory program are permitted to begin employment with approval
from the Human Resources department. \n · Respiratory Care
Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
required Basic Life Support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
required Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) from the National
Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required prior to expiration of
temporary practice permit. \n o Respiratory therapists who receive
their CRT credential from the NBRC after July 1, 2002, are required
to maintain certification under the NBRC requirements \n Licensure,
Certifications, and Clearances: \n · CPR required based on AHA
standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration
component within 30 days of hire \n · Basic Life Support (BLS) OR
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) \n · Certified Respiratory
Therapist (CRT) OR Registered Respiratory Therapist
(RRT)Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) \n · Act 33 with renewal
