standard Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Labor &
Delivery RN for night shifts in a busy perinatal care unit. This
position includes floating as needed across multiple units within
the OSU health system. Strong fetal monitoring and antepartum care
experience is a plus. Ideal for a nurse with strong clinical
judgment, flexibility, and a passion for providing high-quality
maternal care. Facility Highlights - ? Unit Size: 13 beds - Daily
Census: ~10 patients - Scheduling Type: Other (rotational with
every other weekend coverage) - ??? Staffing Ratios: - Day Shift:
1:1 - Night Shift: 1:1 - Support Services: IV Team, PT,
Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Interpreters, Social Services,
Rapid Response, Unit Secretary - Floating: Yes (including
antepartum) - Orientation: 36 hours - Charting System: Not
specified – adaptability required Job Requirements - ? Experience:
Minimum 2 years in L&D - Travel Experience: Not required -
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - ?? Float Requirement:
Yes – including antepartum and other OSU units - ? Time Off: 2
pre-approved RTO requests allowed Certifications Required - BLS
(AHA) - ACLS - NRP - AWHONN Advanced - OR: NCC C-EFM may be
accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced Skills & Competencies Labor &
Delivery Management: - Circulate for C-section - Recover C-section
- Sterile vaginal exams - Pain management and epidural monitoring -
Magnesium sulfate, Pitocin administration Fetal Monitoring &
Antepartum Care: - NSTs, clonus checks, edema assessment - Internal
& external fetal monitoring - Spiral electrode placement - IUPC
placement & calibration Neonatal & Postpartum Support: - APGAR
scoring - Thermoregulation, radiant warmers - Baby nurse/catcher
role (preferred) - Breastfeeding and lactation support - Fundus,
lochia, perineum care - Episiotomy and incision care Surgical
Procedures: - Tubal ligation - Cervical cerclage Additional Skills
(Preferred): - Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) - High risk
