Job Description:
JOB TITLE: Behavioral Healthcare and Counseling Treatment
(BHCT)REPORTS TO: Designated SupervisorWAGE: Non-ExemptHOURS: Forty
hours per weekProvide counseling and psychotherapy to persons with
severe and persistent mental illness. Behavioral health counseling
and therapy services shall consists of a series of time-limited,
structured sessions that utilize evidence-based techniques,
including but limited to CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT,
Trauma-Informed care interventions, and Emerging Best Practices in
Mental Health. Must maintain a current and valid license with the
State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family
Therapist Board.DOMAIN I: CounselingUses accepted theories and
effective techniques to provide individual and group therapy to
individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse
issues.Understanding and use of evidenced-based practices in
individual and group sessions.Responsible for crisis intervention
and coordinate inpatient treatment when needed.Ability to identify
goals for treatment in conjunction with the client and use of tools
including the outcome survey to assist client in his/her
recovery.Ability to complete diagnostic assessment, mental health
assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning.Ability to provide
services within the community including home visits, and at other
community services when neededAbility to communicate verbally with
clientsAbility to deal with conflict and to cope with potentially
difficult and hostile clients.DOMAIN II: PaperworkCompletes notes
and turns in SALS by 5pm the next business day after providing
services.Any needed releases of information are completed and
updated.Requests for paperwork by client, SSA, etc are filled out
in a timely manner and returned to the HI Dept.Make sure that
charts are up to date and have needed paperwork.DOMAIN III:
ConsultationParticipate in multi disciplinary staffing and risk
management staffingsParticipate in trainings and provide trainings
when requestedAbility to work with other organizations, community
members, and a variety of staff as a representative of the program
and agency.Willingness to contribute to solutions and resolutions
of problem areas.DOMAIN IV: CoordinationCoordinate people and other
resources when needed.Identify needs of client and make referrals
as needed.DOMAIN V: Professional BehaviorDemonstrate
professionalism, including a commitment to professional
development.Maintain proper certification and licensureConducts
self in a professional manner, which is reflected in appropriate

conflictEducation:The person must have a Master's Degree in a
related human service field with a PC, PCC MFT or LISW or LSW under
an independently licensed supervisor, RN, MSN, CNS, psychiatrist,
CT under supervision, BA with LSW, PC and psychologist or;Bachelor
of Arts with a LSW for Diagnostic Assessment and TherapyI have read
