Hospice Medical Director - START-UP AGENCYWe're growing and looking for a Hospice Medical Director with agency start up experience!!CorsoCare Hospice, North Canton, OhioAn opportunity to shape the agency and build our teamFlexible ScheduleContingent and will grow into Full TimePosition Summary Hospice Medical Director:The Medical Director is involved at all levels of individualized patient care at the location. The medical director serves as the clinician who oversees and guides the care that is provided, a leader to help define a vision of quality improvement and an operations consultant to address day-to-day aspects of organizational function.Experience and Educational RequirementsMedical DegreeBoard Certification in internal medicine, family medicine, emergency care, or occupational healthCertificate of Added Qualification in Hospice and/ or Palliative Medicine preferredLicense to prescribe C-2 narcotics requiredValid State of Ohio Medical LicensePrior Medical Director experience for long-term care facility preferred.RequirementsSuccessful completion of post-offer screening including Criminal Background Check, Pre-employment Physical and Drug ScreenAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in EnglishMeets and maintains other certifications or requirements as necessary for the positionRemain personally and fully liable and accountable for malpractice committed while performing services on behalf of Laurus Hospice.Physically able to perform job tasks and achieve desired results with or without reasonable accommodation Essential Job DutiesReviews the clinical information for each hospice patient.Provides written certification that it is anticipated that the patient's life expectancy is six (6) months or less if the illness runs its normal course, if appropriate.Maintains responsibility for the medical component of the hospice's patient care program, including initial certifications and recertification's of terminal illness.Verifies that the clinical information necessary for certification is present in the patient's medical record.Reviews the patient's clinical information before the recertification period for each patient.Assumes overall responsibility for the medical component of the hospice's patient care program.Serves as the physician responsible for the overall care and clinical practice carried out at the hospice facility and other locations and service lines as assigned.General DutiesPromotes a positive work environment through professional conduct, teamwork and a helpful, positive attitude to all co-workers and customers.Supports and promotes resident and client rights and allows for privacy, dignity and wellbeing of all.Performs face to face visits or medical evaluations as needed for patient careParticipates in all IDG meetingsProvide oversight of the activities of the Nurse Practitioner and other team physiciansSupports and promotes safety, infection control, quality assurance and compliance with all organization and regulatory requirements; State and Federal.Adheres to all organization and site specific policies and procedures.Efficient time management and prioritization of work.Performs other duties and achieves other results as assigned.#CORAJ#CorsoCare
