Job Description Job Description An established Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering firm is seeking a Mid to Senior Level Electrical Engineer / Project Manager in Pittsburgh, OH . This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $90,000 per year , with higher compensation based on experience and technical ability, and requires 7 years of electrical engineering experience in building system design. The role supports projects within the architectural engineering and construction industry , focusing on power and lighting system design for commercial and institutional buildings. The Electrical Engineer / Project Manager will lead electrical design efforts, manage client relationships, and oversee project delivery for projects based in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer located in Pittsburgh, OH with consulting engineering experience in building systems design. Responsibilities Design power distribution, lighting, and related electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings in Pittsburgh . Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through construction administration. Prepare detailed drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit (engineers complete their own drafting). Coordinate with architects, mechanical and plumbing engineers, and building owners. Ensure compliance with NEC and local building codes applicable in Pittsburgh, OH . Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications. Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase support. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical quality control. Requirements 7 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in an MEP or architectural engineering consulting environment. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (hands-on drafting required). Experience designing electrical systems for markets such as higher education, municipal, recreation, medical office buildings, retail, hospitality, or light manufacturing. Strong understanding of NEC and commercial building codes. Stable employment history in consulting engineering (candidates primarily from utilities, manufacturers, or long-term contract roles will not be considered).
