Graduate Nurses include: /n 3 Main Med/Surg Unit /n •60 bed
Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Stroke Unit /n •Patients with many
diagnoses including CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, and kidney disease /n 4
North Medical Progressive Care Unit /n •Progressive Care Unit with
diverse patient population, with a medical and procedural
cardiology focus /n •Cardiac Focus Includes: Arrhythmias, MI,
Hypertension, CHF, and patients who require cardiac and
electrophysiology procedures (catheterizations, cardioversions,
ablations, pacemakers, etc.) /n •Additional Diagnoses Include:
COPD, Stroke, Sepsis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis /n 4 South Surgical
Progressive Care Unit /n •Cardiac Surgery: CABG’s and Valves /n
•Vascular Surgery: Carotid Endarterectomy’s, Angio’s with stents,
Fem-pop bypass, amputations, mesenteric artery bypass, AAA repairs,
etc /n •Fast paced learning environment with lots of IV drips,
cardiac drains, and pulmonary/critical ill patients /n 5 Pavilion
Ortho /n •30 private beds focusing on both medical and surgical
orthopedics and urology /n •High performing, team-based culture /n

Joint Replacement /n 6 South Surgical Oncology Unit /n •24 bed
surgical oncology unit that specializes in the pre and post op
phase of surgery /n •Patient population consists of primarily
oncology patients with a diagnosis of colon or gynecological
cancers /n •Spacious private rooms that are ADA compliant /n 6
Pavilion Med/Surg Oncology /n •30 bed- private rooms /n •Oncology,
Cardio-thoracic surgery, Post op liver resection surgeries,
med/surg patients /n •Inpatient Chemotherapy and Trans-Arterial
Chemoembolization (TACE) patients /n 6 Main Med/Surg Unit /n •34
bed Medical/Surgical Unit /n •Diverse patient population including
hospice care with unique models of care /n •Telemetry Monitoring /n
Rehab Unit /n •24 bed Post-Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation /n
•Primary Patient Population includes Stroke and Neurological
Impairments /n •Rehab team collaboration with Physical Therapy,
Occupational Therapy, SLP, and PM /n /n OR /n •21 ORs /n •50-60
cases a day /n •Ortho, thoracic, highest volume of robotic

commit to taking the NCLEX examination with 6 months of hire.
Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary
from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual
experience and education. /n - BSN Preferred /n - Completion of
UPMC Student Nurse Internship Program or student clinical
transitions course at UPMC preferred. /n - The individual must be
able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide
care and/or interact appropriately with the ages of the patients
served by his/her assigned unit as specified below. /n - They must
also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and
development over the life span and possess the ability to assess
data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the
appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s
requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide
the care needs as described in the department policy and
procedures. /n - Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring
relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician
providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and
patients/families. /n - Ability to work productively and
effectively within a complex environment and handle
multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. /n -
Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
required as related to various aspects of patient care. /n - Good
clinical judgment. /n - Critical thinking skills necessary to
exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
/n /n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - Current
Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required
prior to program start date OR must have a Temporary Practice
Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX examination with (X) months
of hire. /n - CPR required based on AHA standards that include both
a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of
