Job Description:
Responsibilities:Specializes in the maintenance, repair, and
installation of commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioning
units, furnaces, heat pumps, rooftop units (RTUs), boilers,
chillers, cooling towers, and ventilation systems. Diagnoses and
troubleshoots complex commercial HVAC issues, ensuring quick and
efficient resolutions. Provides leadership to junior technicians
and ensures all work meets industry standards and project
guidelines. Performs preventive maintenance, including inspecting,
cleaning, and replacing components to maximize system performance
and longevity. Works with DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and
building automation systems to monitor and optimize HVAC
performance. Ensures compliance with local, state, and national
HVAC codes and safety regulations. Responds promptly to emergency
maintenance calls and resolves critical HVAC system failures. May
assist with the installation and repair of auxiliary equipment such
as electrical motors, pneumatic control systems, and emergency
generators. Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED
required. Graduation from a technical or trade school or completion
of an HVAC apprenticeship program required. Minimum of five years
of hands-on experience with commercial HVAC systems in industrial,
institutional, or large-scale commercial settings. Strong working
knowledge of DDC and building automation control systems preferred.
EPA Universal CFC Certification required (Refrigerant Handling
Certification). Deep understanding of commercial HVAC tools,
materials, troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
related to commercial HVAC systems. Self-motivated with the ability
to work independently or as part of a team. Must be comfortable
working outdoors in various weather conditions and in confined
spaces. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work any
shift, including weekends and holidays as needed.
